Tata Next-gen Tiago 2026: New Features, Price, Mileage & Launch Details

Tata Next-gen Tiago

The Tata Next-gen Tiago is a hatchback that is expected to launch in India on 28 May 2026. Its expected price range is between ₹4.59 lakh and ₹7.90 lakh. The car will come in 16 variants with both Manual and Automatic transmission options. It will also be available in 3 colour choices.

A few days ago, Tata Motors released the first teaser of the new Tiago and Tiago EV, showing the completely updated exterior design. Now, before the official price announcement on 28 May, the company has released another teaser video showing the interior of the new Tiago.

At the rear, the Tiago gets a fresh new design. The tail lamps look connected, but they are actually separate units. The back design includes sporty horizontal and vertical elements, giving the car a more modern appearance. The overall size of the Tiago is expected to remain the same, staying under four metres in length with a wheelbase of around 2,400 mm.

The interior details are not fully revealed yet, but cameras on the ORVMs and front bumper confirm that the car will get a 360-degree camera system for the first time. The cabin is expected to feature a redesigned instrument cluster, a bigger infotainment screen, and a refreshed interior theme.

There are not expected to be any mechanical changes. The new Tiago will likely continue with the current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic gearbox options. A CNG version is also expected to remain available.

The dashboard has been completely redesigned with a clean horizontal line running across its width, separating the two-tone cabin colours. The infotainment screen appears to be similar in size to the current model, and the two-spoke steering wheel design also looks familiar, though the buttons seem updated. One major change is the new fully digital free-standing instrument cluster.

The HVAC controls look mostly similar, but the panel now appears larger and more premium. The new Tiago is also expected to get wireless charging. The redesigned centre console may include either two wireless charging pads or one charging tray along with a dedicated phone holder.

For the first time, the Tiago also gets a rotary dial on the centre console instead of a traditional gear lever. Paddle shifters have also been confirmed for the automatic variants. Both front and rear passengers will get USB Type-C charging ports. Rear passengers will also benefit from rear AC vents and dual-tone fabric seats.

On the outside, the new Tiago gets a major styling update with fully LED headlamps, integrated DRLs, new alloy wheels, a redesigned rear section, and new colour options.

The engine options are expected to remain unchanged, with the same 1.2-litre petrol and CNG engines available with manual and AMT gearbox choices. Tata Motors will announce the prices of both the new Tiago and the updated Tiago EV on 28 May.

Tata Motors has officially revealed the new Tiago before its launch. The updated hatchback gets major changes both inside and outside and will launch alongside the updated Tiago EV.

The front design now looks inspired by the Altroz, giving the Tiago a more premium and mature appearance within Tata’s lineup. The headlamps are now slimmer and fully LED with integrated DRLs. The bumper gets a black finish along with small fog lamps at the bottom. Sporty design elements include a black roof, shark-fin antenna, and black ORVMs. The alloy wheels are also new with a dual-tone finish. The bright red colour option also seems inspired by the Altroz colour palette.
